Robert Kijowski – 3.20.2025

“Life is not repeatable.”

Robert Kijowski is an indie filmmaker and longtime friend. We discuss the writing, producing, directing, and casting of his film “DRAWN INTO CORNER.” We also talk about The Best Show on WFMU with Tom Scharpling, pitch unnecessary movie sequels (“E.T.(wo)”), and discuss how Werner Herzog eating his shoe inspires us.

“If you are creating, be creative. Don’t destroy other people’s stuff.”

Creativity knowing no boundaries is a sentiment that’s defined the path of Robert Kijowski throughout the years. His wanton desire to create has seen him in roles of music production, graphic design, podcasting, media journalism, screenwriting, and now, indie filmmaker.

From writing the script, storyboarding and ultimately casting and directing its amazing actors (Steven Douglas, Casey Alexandra, Lillie Schenkel and Rebecca Norton), his dreamy debut short film drawn into a corner celebrates the madness of perfectionism when creating, indecision’s intoxicating poison. Inspired by the meta-fiction of Fellini and Kaufman, it’s a tale as old as time: the very stumped artist.
